Getting back on track
I have been a lazy bandster. My last fill was 10 months ago, and I had gained back 15 pounds of the 55 I had lost. My portions were large again, I was snacking a lot, and had basically fallen back into my pre-op ways. I had creeped from a size 18 back up to a 20, and was generally disgusted with myself.
But you know what the beauty of the band is? You can start over anytime you need to! I mustered up my courage and made an appointment for an office visit. The nurse practitioner was absolutely wonderful. She didn't fuss at me for gaining weight, or for staying away for so long. She simply said that I should go back to the basics and get back on track.
I got a pretty agressive fill yesterday (1.0 cc) and I can definitely feel it. I am very encouraged, and anxious to get the scale moving down again. I will be going in for another office visit in one month, to check my progress.
Weight loss is not a race, it's something we will struggle with for the rest of our lives. So if anyone reading this has backslidden a bit the way I did, please don't beat yourself up about it. Just get back on the horse and start moving forward again!

Terri, Good for you! After months of floundering back & forth, I decided to kick things up a notch & started walking the Lapband walk more deliberately. Got back to visiting OH almost daily which has been a great help!!! Even got back in the walking & exercise routine, until I had auto accident 4 weeks ago. Started physical therapy today and looking forward to getting "back to normal" walking & exercising in a few weeks. Meanwhile, small portions & doing the exercises that I can do while my ankle heals.
Onward & upward! Even when you've made a mistake here & there along the way, it's great to know you CAN get back on track. Best wishes for a renewed determination as you continue the journey!

I sure needed to see this post tonight. I've been stalled for a year now and can't seem to get the scale to budge. It's so disheartening after doing so good for so long and now nothing is happening. I know I haven't been the best band patient and maybe I need to take a good long look in the mirror and say ok girl you had this surgery to make a better and healthier you now get to it! Thanks for the motivation and good luck on your journey. ~hugs~
